The kettle on the sill — still the rule

This is not a speech and not a vote. It is the shape of an evening when the canal looked like wet stone and everyone pretended they had not been standing in the doorway listening.

I counted because Lena counts. I tied back because Joost ties. I turned the bulb off because Anouk should not have to say it a fifth time in one month.

Same thread next month if needed. Until then: boots, paper, mail, Friday.

I count stakes in my head anyway.

Bulb off. Key on the nail. I checked.

I was not there for the whole evening, but I was there for the part where someone moved the map and Elise made the face she makes when the map is not folded. That is enough context for me.

See you Thursday if the weather agrees.

Soup is not a meeting.

No drama intended.

Boots on the step. Always.

Counted twice because I do not trust my own memory after bread.

Train was late. Bus was not. I still made Friday. Thin and true beats a calendar of maybes.

Mail if it is a bed question.

Quiet on Mondays.

Same rule as last month. Still the rule.

I am not asking for a bed in this reply. I am asking the board to stay boring in the useful way.

That is all I have.

Quick reply

Uses the name from Register on this computer. Other beds will not see it until you also say it on Friday.
